I have been a patient for three years. I switched to Dr. Farnam when my previous Dr. recommended a full hysterectomy. However, I got a second opinion with Dr. Farnam. Instead of getting the full hysterectomy he advised the partial. When it came to the procedure Dr. Farnam explained everything to my husband and I. Several months passed after the procedure and newly challenges took into effect, however, the doctor and his staff have been extremely patient and helpful. What I like from Dr. Farnam is that he does not belittle you. He is an extremely wonderful Dr and he truly goes above and beyond to help you. I highly recommend any woman in El Paso to go with him. Every-time that I have an issue even on the weekends, his nurse practitioners are always helpful. Getting a partial or full hysterectomy has its challenges but I truly feel that I’m not alone with Dr. Farnam and his lovely staff.

Had surgery on Thursday, here I am a few days later already feel amazing. Minimal pain, no bleeding, very little bruising and soreness. I am not only his patient but his staff member as well. My sisters, niece and daughters see him as well. He’s very patient in explaining everything and takes his time with my millions of questions. I won’t go anywhere else. Thank you Dr. Farnam.

I was given all of my options to make an informed decision. I ended up choosing surgery for the removal of endometriosis and I’m so glad I did. Since day one the staff was really nice and patient. Nurse Lopez listened to all of my concerns. I had all the necessary test done until the day of surgery. Doctor Farnam was so nice and patient and made sure I was doing fine after surgery.

Dr. Farnam is the best doctor. He listens to your concerns, you can ask him anything, and he makes you feel comfortable. At first, I didnt want to have a male gynecologist, but I am so happy i made the choice to see him and listened to the many word of mouth reviews I received about him. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Farnam and his entire team.My first appointment at this practice was in March after being diagnosed with a fibroid by another doctor.In August, a 3lb, 20cm fibroid was removed laparoscopically along with stage 1 endometriosis. It was an intense surgery but Dr. Farnam did an amazing job and accomplished something that not many surgeons would be able to do.I highly recommend Dr. Farnam for anyone needing a myomectomy.Everyone in the office is very professional and they always answer all of my questions and take the time to get to know me, my history, my concerns, and what I’m planning for the future.The wait time was a concern of mine earlier this year but has been considerably better. For my last appointment, I was in and out in less than 1 hour, that’s with taking vitals, an exam and a post op follow up.My only note would be to let patients know what to expect during their appointments, maybe it’s just me but having never had a surgery of this kind I was a little blindsided during the post op appointments.Other than that, I am so so happy I found a doctor who listens to me and is focused on increasing my quality of life.

Dr. Farnam is a wonderful doctor and I would 100% recommend him to those who are in need of his procedures. He informed me on everything and how surgery would go and really put my nerves at ease, surgery went great, and recovery was quick with little pain just like he had told me! After 5 years and numerous alternatives taken to avoid surgery, my pain lead me to Dr. Farnam and I’m grateful it did. Aside from an efficient staff, he personally took the time on several visits to answer all my questions, and made me feel like I was in capable hands. I had a total hysterectomy and can honestly say by the end of week 1 of recovery that it was hard to believe I had major surgery. My small incisions healed great and not that noticeable! Dr Farnam knows his stuff and has a great personality. Most of all, he answered all my questions and I felt at ease. I highly recommend Dr Farnam!

This guy is clearly a legend in his own mind. He did surgery on my wife to replace a bladder interstim. He botched the surgery, leaving a piece of the old unit in her and never told her. The new unit was MRI compatible and she had a couple MRIs for other reasons following the surgery that Farnam failed to do properly. The metal left in her could have caused serious issues but luckily they didnt. As a result of the radiologist sharing the fact that she had a piece of metal in her, she checked her progress notes from Farnam and there was nothing in the notes about the piece left in her. In addition, at every appointment she has had, there has been at least a 1 hour wait time, sometimes longer. This guy boasts about all of his expertise, but clearly doesnt care about the individual patient. My wife has transferred to a urologist in Tucson and wont be back to see Farnam.

Dr. Farnam is a highly skilled physician in gynecology. He has brought innovation and creativity in treating female problems. He is honest, concise and straightforward in the treatment he can provide. He is caring and compassionate and I highly recommend him to others.

Dr Farnam is one of the kindest and knowledgeable doctors will ever come across. As someone who suffers from health anxiety Dr Farnam takes the time to address any concerns while offering calming advice. His staff is thoughtful and always greet you with a smile. Dr. Farnam is an amazing doctor!!! I have struggled with debilitating endometriosis for years without a proper diagnosis. No one knew what was causing my pain. Eventually after I got married, my husband and I began trying to have children. After a year went by we saw a fertility doctor in Houston who diagnosed me with stage 2 endometriosis. This doctor said my only options were iui or ivf. I was devastated. So I did some research and found Dr. Farnam in El Passo. My husband and I flew out from Houston for my consultation appointment and Dr. Farnam was confident that he could remove all of my endometriosis which would allow me to conceive a child. So, we scheduled the surgery and two months later we packed up our truck and 3 dogs and made the 12 hour drive across Texas. We rented an air bnb for a week and it was perfect. My surgery went amazingly well. And turns out I was originally misdiagnosed and actually had stage 4 endometriosis! Dr. Farnam removed all of the disease along with my appendix. A little over a month after my surgery and I was pregnant!!! I am 15 weeks along now and couldnt be more thankful. G-d truly preformed a miracle by guiding me to find Doctor Richard Farnam. Thank you Dr. Farnam for all you and your staff have done for me and my family. You will always have my deepest gratitude.

Dr. Farnam has been the biggest blessing to my health. He has listened and helped me overcome the many and unfortunate obstacles that come with my stage 3 endometriosis & PCOS. I cannot say enough wonderful comments regarding this office. I am so impressed as to how everyone in this office has treated me. I also had a study done by one of their girls, who made it a positive experience.Now let’s talk about my surgery, I am two weeks post-op and I feel fantastic and convinced I picked the right Dr. To perform it. Dr. Farnam is an excellent surgeon, who also happens to be compassionate in treating his patients. I will definitely continue my care in this office.

So far so good, Dr. Fanam Was very professional and generous in explaining how and what type of procedures I may need before having my surgery he answered all my questions I had regarding how long my recovery would be and able to return to work. I will keep the faith he gave me in the Good Lords hands. The staff was wonder also though the wait was a bit long, and speaking from working in a Dr’s myself everyone deserves good care and if waiting means I too will get that care the wait is my least worry, Thank you again.

Dr. Farnam and his staff are so nice . I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks , so when I was nervous to go to appointments the staff were always nice and understanding . I just had surgery with Dr. Farnam and the procedure went well and I have minimal pain . The hospital staff were also very understanding of my anxiety and helped calm me numerous times before surgery . I 100% recommend Dr. Farnam and his staff .

Terrible got there at 12:45 got in at 1:18. Not so bad. Had talked to them when I made my appointment about pap’s and normal GYN procedures. She told me that would be another appointment because my referral saidHormone Therapy. I found it strange but OK?The nurse that took my vitals said I would not see the Dr but the practitioners. I was a little disappointed but ok they have some great practitioners and Dr’s are doing that.She then told me I needed to get undressed because I would be examined?I told her they told me that I was told that would be another appointment and continued to tell her what the appointments lady told me about my insurance referral said hormone therapy. But she said no a complete GYN exam.Waited necked for 60 minutes!!!! What the heck is that!!! Got dressed said I need to talk to a manager, they said it will be awhile??I said give me my money back?They told me to call a number it would take 7 days.Worst experience of my life at a Dr’s officeDon’t go

Dr. Richard Farnam is an Excellent doctor, very caring and provides Exceptional care. I had to undergo a complete hysterectomy. I am glad to say that everything went well. No pain or discomfort. So pleased and very thankful to him. Highly recommend him. Thank you Dr. Farnam.

By far the best womens care Ive experienced. I have not had the best of care with the VA when it came to gynecological care and Dr. Farnum made sure to change and take care of all my issues. Dr. Farnum is definitely an expert in his field from what I have experienced in my short time with this clinic. Patricia Loya Castro the NP is amazing as well and so attentive. The staff is very caring and give off such a good vibe throughout the building. You are definitely in great hands from the moment you walk-in.

Office staff is incredibly unprofessional. Told me Dr. Farnum was running late. Over an hour later pulled in finally. Sat naked waiting for my annual an additional forty five minutes before walking out. Do not recommend. Could have just rescheduled me but instead chose to lie about me being next. I was told by some woman with long lashes in the front I was his first patient after he got in. When I asked because I was tired of sitting there exposed I was told an additional 4-5 people were before me.

Not transparent with pricing. I called for information on tubal ligation reversal and posed the question if the 10k quoted on their website was all-inclusive (which is a reasonable question since cost is all out of pocket). I was told the consult was $480 (which is fair), but they couldn’t tell me the anesthesia cost or facility cost. I was told the information would only be released at the consult…meaning I have to pay $480 dollars just go get a honest/transparent price. Very very disappointed. I’m willing to spend money, but not to places that aren’t up front and with pricing.**I appreciate the thoughtful reply to this comment. The question I posed to reception was what the facility and anesthesia cost was (after being told 10k was for the procedure only),and I was informed the prices for those would only be discussed at a consultation (which cost about $480) I completely understand reversal can be a expensive investment including facility cost, surgeon fee, anesthesia, and pre-op testing; therefore, I was seeking clarification on website pricing.

I cannot say enough about Dr Farnam.I’ve been with him for decades and he continues to be knowledgeable, caring, professional and the best doctor I could ever have!!

Unfortunately, the office here is completely disorganized. I chose to schedule an appointment for my mother here because of the rave reviews and I wanted the best care for her since she needs surgery. It’s been months of her only seeing the nurse practitioner. They’ve been giving her the runaround about when this surgery will be done for weeks now and now it sounds like they’re not even doing the surgery. The secretary asked her if she had already left a review for the doctor. How can she if she hasn’t even met the doctor yet?It has been disappointing and frustrating to see them treat her this way.If you see a doctor with an unusually high amount of 5 star reviews, I’d beware. Not sure why there has been this trend with some doctors to push patients to leave these “great” reviews. Suddenly reviews are far more important than treating patients. I understand ratings do mean a lot to a business, but if doctors and staff focused on doing a great job providing the best care for their patients, those good reviews would come organically.

I couldnt wait to get home to write a review for Dr. Farnam, his PA, and especially his staff. But, I knew that I had to calm down first. My appointment with the Dr. or his PA was at exactly 12 noon. I waited TWO hours for my consultation until I realized that I wasnt going to wait one more second. A patient should never have to wait more than 20 minutes for ANY doctor. There are so many excellent and considerate doctors in El Paso...dont waste your time going here. The staff wanders around looking for something to do, and the doctor? Where is the doctor? Where is the PA? Dont go there!!

Dr. Farnam and his staff are really awesome. Excellent attention! I had a total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy removal along with a bladder mesh sling surgery. Staff at the hospital were very attentive , explained every detail of my surgery. Recovery has been good, I’ve followed the instructions of doctor. Dr. Farnam is the third gynecologist that I’ve seen in the last 1 1/2 years. The first two gynecologists I’ve had, I was not happy. Never felt comfortable with them and/or their clinics. I was a bit hesitant when I met Dr. Farnam (he was recommended by my dearest friend and she insisted that I see him and promised that I won’t regret it). Immediately after meeting Dr. Farnam, I felt at ease. He actually listened to me as I had explained my issues. And it wasn’t just Dr. Farnam, but his whole staff! The staff has been amazingly sweet to me. After all, the staff represents the doctor, so that is important too. Dr. Farnam is indeed an incredible doctor, and he has helped me tremendously. So my friend is right that I won’t regret meeting him, i am so happy to have met Dr. Farnam. The only thing I regret is that I didn’t see him sooner! Thank you Dr. Farnam!!Update: it has been two weeks since my surgery. I feel more alive than I did in the last two years with my issues. Dr. Farnam is simply the best!! I look forward to getting my life back!

The BEST experience! Dr. Farnam and staff are genuinely committed to patient care. I had robotic hysterectomy to remove massively enlarged uterus. The size of a WATERMELON 🍉! Surgery was perfect, recovery was minimal. I almost can’t believe I had surgery. Wish I would have done this sooner.

Had to wait an hour and 45 minutes and was told I would only be waiting at the most an hour and a half. Then the office became upset because IHad to leave to see my patients. I was rescheduled me after multiple attempts. They finally contacted me to let me know that they did not want to see me as a patient. The whole process of trying to get in and reschedule with more time took me at least 3 months and was a total waste of my time and energy. As a medical professional I have to rate them as amazingly unprofessional.

Dr. Farnam is pretty cool but it’s just not worth dealing with the office staff. They wait till LAST minute to tell you what they need of you and make it sound like it’s your fault for not being able to get back with them immediately. They literally pounded me every hour about obtaining a doctors reference the DAY BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT! I tried to look past that experience and give them a chance because anyone can have a bad day- not worth the hassle. I am continually disappointed with these people. They aren’t clear or helpful and that’s IF you can even get ahold of them.

Dr. Farnam was Heaven sent! Truly amazing, compassionate and knowledgeable doctor. I was adamant about going to another doctor for my condition after three dismissed what I felt was going wrong with my body. It took him two appointments to figure it out and take action. During surgery I felt comfortable because I knew I had chosen the best physician in our city to do the job that was necessary to be done in order for me to be back to 100%. I would recommend him to any of my friends or family.

Wow!wow!wow! I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Farnam when I took my 82 year old aunt to her appointment. He did a complete hysterectomy and bladder repair on my aunt. The very same day after recovery my aunt looked and felt amazing. I was very impressed with the way he tended to her physical and emotional needs. I personally wished he had done my surgery 30 years ago, I had a partial hysterectomy and feel that that surgery traumatized me forever! I highly recommend Dr. Farnam, he is very highly skilled in what he does besides treating his patients with respect and dignity.

I am extremely pleased with the Dr. and his staff. He operated on me four years ago and literally saved my life. I went in for a bladder suspension. During surgery he noticed some mesh from an earlier hernia repair was attached to my colon. Thank God he didnt opt to ignore this potentially fatal situation. He disengaged the mesh. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Farnum for his attentive action. He takes time with his patients, is genuinely caring and professional. I have recommended him to several friends. I am extremely glad to have found him.

Dr. Farnam is a good surgeon. I did not like his bedside manner. I have had multiple surgeries.He stated he would only recommend a full hysterectomy he wouldnt want to continue to operate. I found a functional medicine doctor, diet and acupuncture to help treat my PCOS. Hysterectomy is not the only option for a young woman. Please beware

The recovery after surgery was amazingly fast and painless. This only can tell me the professionalism, dedication and great knowledge of Dr. Farnam.Not only he’s one of the TOP 5 DOCTORS in his field.He’s so human and warm, empathetic and his enthusiasm is amazing.It’s not very often that we find this feeling of gratitude and satisfaction with doctors.Highly highly RECOMMENDED!!!

I’ve waited almost 7 years to post this review. The reason why is because I had severe endometriosis, I had a total of 4 surgeries within 3 years by the age of 22 and I was searching for a doctor who actually knew something about endometriosis and found Dr. Farnam, he was about 5 or 6 hours away at the time. I knew to expect a long wait as I read the reviews (I’m glad I waited).He agreed on another surgery to remove the endometriosis but unfortunately a year later it returns.He helped me by allowing and performing a total hysterectomy which has changed my life for the better!

Dr Farnam is an excellent doctor.. he save my life.. had gone to so many obgyn.. and dont compare to his work ethic.. abd best bed side manners. Took his time with me.. grateful to God to put dr Farnam. In my life.. God bless him

I had the most wonderful experience. I had a partial hysterectomy, bladder sling and rectocele done about 5 weeks ago and have had the best results from all of it. Dr. Farnam is very professional and knowledgeable. I am a nurse myself and it was very nice to have a doctor that listens with great bedside manners! Dr. Farnam saved my life. He takes his time and is very thorough. He doesn’t rush and makes you feel like he has no other patients waiting. You may wait a little in the lobby, but that’s only because he is giving someone his undivided attention. All of his staff, and nurses are the absolute best. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I would like to share that Dr. Farnum is simply amazing. He is professional and easy to talk to. He takes the time to explain and answer questions thoroughly and makes you feel very comfortable. He also posts You Tube videos that are helpful in answering questions that can come up later. If you have been searching for a good Dr. look nor further. Dr. Farnam is truly a Blessing. I have never come across a physician with so much compassion for his patients and without any hidden agendas. He went way and beyond to provide me with the greatest medical care and during my surgery took further steps to make sure everything that wasnt detected he removed, which was a step a way from cancer .Dr. Farnam saved my life and due to the extent of his knowledge and expertise and wrapped in a tremendous heart for his patients, I am healed.

I needed to recognize the service I had this week from the staff in Dr Farnam’s Office. I was being treated for something after seeing Dr Farnam, the medicine was not working; after calling the office they responded by sending me to a specialist. Who wasn’t available till the end of the month. (Pooft that wouldn’t help at all) I went about Doctoring myself on the internet and the next morning I got a call back from Dr Farnam’s office and they told me a different specialist was available the next day, I jumped to the opportunity!The doctor they referred me to was wonderful, and took a lot of my worries out of my hands. She prescribed new medication, and made sure I was really comfortable. She calmed me down and was very helpful. Took a blood test and told me she’d contact me as soon as possible. With the results she will determine if she will have to see me again.I’m writing to say thank you, this goes along with the saying it takes a village, it takes all of dr farnams staff to treat me and find out what is going on.Great big than you to everyone!

I am very pleased with all services provided and grateful for Dr. FARNAM! He not only took care of my ongoing issues of my Uterus, Cervix and Fallopian tubes that caused a great deal of problems for me, preventing me from being physically active at times due to pelvic pain and irregular menstrual cycles. I had already been through an Ablated Endometrium which did not help me and perhaps made things worse for me.. The ablation was NOT performed by Dr. Farnam, by the way. My next step was a Hysterectomy which I came to Dr.. Farnam for that procedure due to positive reviews from other patients. While having my hysterectomy, on surgery day, Dr. Richard Farnam also took the initiative to find my lost Filshe clips that had migrated somewhere in my abdomen after having a tubal ligation 16 years ago. My previous OBGYN doctor did not even consider to find and remove them after finding out I had these clips somewhere lost in my abdomen. Post surgery, everything is healing very well, I am so happy. I recommend Dr. FARNAM 100% and I am thankful for his expertise and professionalism.

Amazing!!!! 5 day recovery after full Hysterectomy! The doctor is professional and a leader in innovating techniques. Not-invasive robotic surgery was perfect, Las Palmas hospital was great as well. All nurses and staff were wonderful during recovery....Their office staff are very sweet and accommodating.Not kidding! I am back at work already (few hrs at least).

I am so pleased with the outcome of my surgery. I am thrilled to feel better and would like to thank Dr. Farnam for his excellent work. My pain has been minimal during recovery and I am very happy to have found a doctor who is simply extraordinary! He is a real life saver and I will be recommending Dr. Farnam to everyone I know.

Went in for simple removal of implanon, he made a huge cut, kept it covered and untouched until 2 days later where it hurt so bad I uncovered to see the cut. It was red, swollen, hot to the touch, like 3 inches around the cut. Now I am on antibiotics.This was my 3rd implanon, 1st time being served by Dr. Farnam and I won’t be going back. I’ll have a nasty scar once this cut heals after being infected. One he had bad bedside manner, was in a rush, and rude, left his aid with no idea how to cover up the cut. She was nervous and stated she had no idea what to do. Great mentoring there.

Good Dr, takes time to explain and tell you what is wrong and procedures they can do in order to help you. Wish I could say the same about the front staff. The first time they scheduled my appointment wrong and they had to reschedule I live almost 30miles away from the office, I didnt complain this time simply drove back home. Next appointment they had to reschedule again, saying the Dr wouldnt be in but that the appointment they would give me would be over the phone. I thought great, I dont have to drive all the way over there. The day of my appointment Im waiting and waiting for a call. I never get one. They call back the next day saying I was supposed to go in and that they hadnt scheduled it as a virtual appointment. So once again they had to reschedule me. This time they were able to do the video conference they told me there was bad reception and for me to find a better place, Im moving to another place when all of a sudden they hang up, they couldnt wait even 2mins for me to move somewhere else. So again they rescheduled. They said it would be virtually again.... And they once again never called, same excuse saying I was supposed to go in that they hadnt scheduled it as a virtual appnt. Well they RESCHEDULED. Finally a month later, I get to my appointment and that day they didnt wanna see AGAIN saying there was something wrong with my insurance. By this time I really started to get upset. Im sorry to say this but I think they should hire better staff that is actually competent, I have never experienced so many issues with a Dr ever like this before. But once again Dr. Farnam and Dr. Castro are both great. Due to all I experienced thats the reason for my low rating.

Dr Farnaman is a great Dr I highly recommend him . I was at the emergency room at providence hospital and I needed an emergency surgery to be done . I was in so much pain . The emergency dr call Dr. Farman and he did the surgery that same day . I am very greatful to Dr Farnman because thanks to him doing the surgery I will be able to see my twins graduate from high school in June . He saved my life . After my surgery I was not in pain at all and I’m walked the next day . God bless to Dr Farnman and taking time out of his busy schedule to do my surgery for me not to be in pain . I will forever be greatful to him .

Dr. Farnam is the best! He is very good at his job and very educated and always answers any questions and concerns I have. He has helped me with my endometriosis and fertility issues.

I went to Dr. Farnam for endometriosis. He didnt get it all and then it took only 6 months for the endometriosis pain to return and it returned with a vengeance. It is much worse than before. The day of my surgery, no one came out to tell my husband how the surgery went even though Dr. Farnam said he would. At my first follow up appointment I only saw the nurse practitioner and she couldnt give me any information on what happened during the surgery stating that Dr. Farnam had just left. At the second follow up appointment the nurse practitioner came in and I told her to go get Dr. Farnam. I finally got the opportunity to speak to him about my how my surgery went and he was short with me and acted like I was wasting his time. I still dont really know how my surgery went because he was being so rude I kind of gave up.

Dr. Farnam is truly the best. I have had two previous surgeries with him and have always left better than before. He is very kind, and knowledgeable.Also, great staff.

Dr. Farnam and Nurse Practitioner Castro are both consumate professionals who took the time to make sure I understood what procedures were needed and done. I drove 6 and a half hours to use Farnam as my Doctor and it was absolutely 100% worth it! He and his team as well as the hospital staff listened to every concern, never left my family wondering what the status of my surgery before, during or after was and the nurses were in my room every 5 minutes making sure I was comfortable.They could not have been any nicer. Each member that was going to help with my surgery came in and introduced them selves one by one! They stayed so patient and calm! If I needed pain meds I had them in 5 minutes not 45 like the previous hospital in my hometown. They also spoke in a way that we all understood and didnt drown us in medical Jargon. I had a removal of endometriosis/ cysts and my tubes. Im in pain but not enough to hinder me from getting something on the other side of my hotel room and my surgery was at 7am! Thats huge. Im so happy to have found a solution to my pain and a Dr. That specializes in this process.

I do love Dr. Farnam. The time I get to talk to him always leaves me feeling better. The office is just Very rushed. They shamed me for being 12 minutes late. I tried so hard to get out of work and rush over there. My time is important too.

My previous physician said I needed an open abdominal surgery with an extensive recovery period. They don’t respect their patient’s time. It has happened multiple times where I’m waiting there way longer after the scheduled appointment time. I have recurring issues and I have never been helped. I have to go to an urgent care instead.Getting an appointment is hard to get. I had to wait a couple months. There is a lot of staff but no one is helping making things go faster. The female staff is very rude. Overall, I’m getting a new doctor.

As a Registered Nurse and an Operating Room Nurse and being 77 I was doubly concerned about having Robotic Pelvic Surgery! Everything went so well from the preop care, recovery and post op care that all of my worry was unnecessary! I had NO POST OP Pain to speak of! I was walking in the recovery area within a couple of hours of surgery and went home feeling fine.I experienced a couple of slow days then I was pretty much back to normal. Ive been going to Dr. Farnam for about 10 years. He has been great along with his nurse practitioner, but most recently I waited 50 minutes in the examination room for him to come in. He never showed up, I changed and left. He has had such a growth in buisness that I believe his receptionist has become overwhelmed. I recently called to ask some questions and Alex became loud and upset over the phone. When I brought it to her attention that there was no reason to be upset , she got annoyed. I asked her to just cancel my appointments, she said done and hung up. We all have bad days but we need to remember not to take it out on the customers.

I have been suffering with severe organ prolapse since 2007. My problem continued to worsen with every year.My quality of life continued to dwindle little by little,but then I found Dr. Farnum! My name is Vicki Burns. I am 65 years old. I had a Level III pelvic organ prolapse which had progressed over approximately 25 years. I had a vaginal uterine histerectomy in 2000. Upon recommendation from my primary care physician, I was seen by Dr. Farnam and his staff beginning March 3, 2017 for pre-surgical examination and testing procedures in April and May. My primary care physician wanted me to have state of the art care. I had robotic surgery performed by Dr. Farnam on July 17, 2017. Dr. Farnam performed extensive lifts and adhesion removal in my abdomen. I was amazed at how well I felt immediately following surgery. I had a small amount of pain for two days post surgery. Given my age, it took 3 months to completly heal from the surgery. However, I have been pain free, mobile and feeling better than I have in 20 years, thanks to Dr. Farnams expertise. He is an excellent surgeon and a great doctor. I have had to wait in his office at times, because he is very busy. The wait has been worth it because he has given me as much time as I have needed during my visits. He has answered all of my questions with patience and understanding and has made me so thankful I chose him to be my Urogynocologist. I am now ready to return to my normal exercise routine as well as my regular housework. I will continue to avoid heavy lifting (furniture moving), but otherwise I have my life back! Dr Farnam is absolutely amazing! I went to see him after being diagnosed 2 years ago with endometriosis and going through several treatment options with no success. Dr Farnam was very friendly and welcoming and provided a very relaxing experience. He answered all my questions before surgery and made sure I knew exactly what would happen during my procedure and afterwards. His staff is very nice and always ready to help answer any questions. He is the only doctor I will see for my endometriosis.

I hope youre ready to spend 2+ hours waiting to see the doctor or to get an ultrasound. Absolutely unreasonable wait time at every single visit.I will say Dr Farnam is very empathetic and kind and I do like having him as my doctor (he did my endometriosis excision surgery) but I wont be going back anytime soon unless something changes. :(

I have been going to Dr. Farnam for 5 years now and I wont ever trust anyone else with my female health. He has great bedside manner, he listens and in my first visit was able to figure out what over 12 doctors and 6 years of pain and horrendous cycles werent able to. You cant get better than him.

I think many people come to El Paso and let Dr. Farnam to perform the surgery because of his good reviews online. I became one of the patients that trusted him very much after reading those positive reviews. However, after my surgery, I would like to provide a different review for Dr. Farnam based on my own experience.I have endometriosis for a long time. I experienced painful periods every month. My main reason for seeing Dr. Farnam was to treat pain. I had Dr. Farnam do a laparoscopy to treat endometriosis in November, 2017. In my first appointment, Dr. Farnam suggested me to do a hysterectomy, but I declined. I just wanted to remove my cysts. My husband was with me during the appointment before the surgery date. In this appointment, Dr. Farnam did not have any eye contact with me or my husband when talking to us. I was a bit concerned because of his attitude, but I trusted him too much. I just told myself that all good surgeons were like that.My husband was with me on the surgery day. The surgery only lasted “one hour.” After the surgery, Dr. Farnam told my husband that my endometriosis was serious. The cysts are everywhere. It is a stage IV condition. After hearing that, my husband was confused. If my condition was so serious, why did he only spend “one hour” on the surgery?My first appointment after the surgery was the day before Thanksgiving, two weeks after the surgery. I was not able to see Dr. Farnam but the nurse practitioner. At this appointment, I only received the pictures of laparoscopy and a pathology report, indicating the cysts tissues collected during the surgery were benign. I HAVE NO IDEA what the doctor did during the surgery.My next appointment was after the New Year (about eight weeks after the surgery). By this time, I already had two menstruation. Both were VERY painful. I was very concerned and wanted to address my concerns during the appointment in January 2018. Dr. Farnam still did not see me and sent his nurse practitioner AGAIN. I could see Dr. Farnam walked outside the exam rooms, but he DID NOT COME TO SEE ME. I told the nurse practitioner about my pain. She said she did not know the reason. She suggested me do a CT. After I scheduled the CT, I felt things were not right. I consulted a gyn doctor friend in my home country. She said CT was useless for my condition. So I cancelled the CT and scheduled an appointment with a second gyn doctor.I did an ultrasound (only spent $20 office visit) with the second gyn doctor. I was surprised and frustrated to find out that my cysts were still there!!! And they are about the same size before the surgery (4 cm). Can you imagine how frustrated and angry I was? The reason that I still experience painful periods is that Dr. Farnam did not remove them!!! I spent around $3000 on this surgery!I am not a medical professional. But based on my consultation with the second doctor, for my serious endometriosis, the surgeon should spend a long time to clear the cysts. The second doctor told me that it was like detailing a car. Obviously, Dr. Farnam did not spend enough time to remove the cysts for me. He finished my surgery within ONE HOUR.Another thing that made me angry is that he NEVER gave me an explanation about what he did during the surgery. Before the surgery, he found that I have uterine fibroid. Until now, I have no idea if he removed the fibroid or not.If you are like me who want to treat endometriosis but do not want to remove ovaries or uterus, do not have Dr. Farnam perform the surgery. I do not think he has the patience to clear the cysts, based on my experiences. Dr. Farnam has betrayed my trust.

While the possibility of undergoing surgery was slightly unnerving, I felt my apprehension transform into a positive experience. From my first consultation with him until my procedure 3 weeks ago, my uneasiness disappeared.I attribute the change to several factors. First and foremost was his warm and caring disposition. During my first consultation, he displayed genuine concern over my health and expressed he would get to the bottom of it. Second, were his communication skills. He explained results, blood work, the surgical procedure and potential post-op effects thoroughly. He also answered my questions and doubts. Whether it was in laymans terms or via an illustration, Dr. Farnam took the time to expound on the matter. Lastly, the positive articles and awards displayed in the waiting room, his years of experience, and contributions to his field informed me that I was in excellent hands.Having never gone through any type of surgery before, made me uneasy about the potential for surgery. However, his expertise and exceptional rapport with me allowed me to arrive at an educated and sound decision with undeniable confidence.Granted, his office is busy and the wait time to be seen can be a personal challenge, but these factors did not outweigh the expert care and treatment I received under Dr. Farnam.Our community is fortunate to have such a first-rate doctor.

Dr. Farnam is one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever met. He did a hysterectomy, removed a fibroid plus a bladder lift. This major was done using De Vinci Method and I cant express enough how easy this surgery was.The first day I was up walking around, by the third day I was feeling great and within 7 days I was out having my hair and nails done.The suggestion was made to rest for two weeks but within 7 days I was ready to work again and feeling great. It is absolutely amazing how easy this surgery was because of Dr. Farnams medical research, knowledge and process of doing the surgery.A close friend had a similar hysterectomy the old fashion way by making an incision down the abdomen. Experiencing the effects of OAB for several years, I finally decided to do something about it. Due to an active life, along with several long road trips yearly, this issue had become very inconvenient. With Dr. Farnams help, I agreed to have Interstim therapy (bladder pacemaker). I had the procedure done on July 24, three weeks later, I am extremely happy with my decision. 95% success today, and I am thrilled, I made the right decision to make my life easier. I have been a patient here for a couple of years and I feel like the staff is unfriendly and my questions, concerns, needs are brushed over or approached in a poor manner.Also they never answer their phone and if they do you’re put on hold forever so it’s almost impossible to reschedule appointments or cancel them.

Wonderful staff, healing was great, Dr. Farnam explained everything , answered all my questions. Never took any pain meds...Dr. Farman prescribe medication but I never needed the pain was minimum. I was driving and on my feet in 5 days. I was out for 3 weeks from work and honestly I could have gone back in 5 days. I had to wait till Dr. Farnam release me and was able to go back to work. I rested did nothing stayed in bed, did not lift any heavy objects. Followed Dr. advice and the healing process was great. Thank you Dr. Farman and staff making my procedure and healing process a positive one. Yes you do have to wait in the Dr. office but its worth it, take a book, you phone, they have a TV in the office so you may see during the wait....

Dr Farnam walked into my exam room for what should have been a quick pre-op but it turned out different. (So, thank you to the ladies that had to wait that day for me) Dr Farnam took the time to find a surgeon (Dr. Del Coro, 5star) to remove the gallbladder immediately after my hysterectomy. This saved me from having 2 surgeries and 2 recoveries. He also took extra time to remove my C-section scar from my bladder during surgery. Thank again to the woman who waited in the next room. We all share one doctor.El Paso women should know that we are so fortunate to have a surgeon of his skill. Those who are the best at anything are hard to get into. Cardiologists, OB/GYN, plumbers, hairstylists if theyre good be prepared to wait because they are worth it. Should medical conditions lead you to the need for a hysterectomy, Dr. Farnam and robotic surgery is the only way to go. In and out surgery (no hospital stay needed), quick recovery (back to myself in two weeks), and a doctor who really cares for his patients. Although any surgery has its risks, this procedure is far less abrasive than the past and surprisingly much easier than I anticipated. It is amazing where modern medicine has come over the years!

Very disappointing, if you have Medicare they pull you aside to ask if you are going to ask the physician questions to bill at a higher rate. Will be switching physicians this is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Then you select to ask a question and see the FNP instead of the physician, who by the way is very rude, and wants an answer right then and there about surgery. Would not recommend this practice!

After having a biopsy done, the staff kept calling to change my appt. It was a game of 4 months straight pushing my appt back. Every time my appt was near I will get a phone call to have my appt changed. Left messages for the nurse since I was bleeding and in pain and never received a called back. No empathy for this office.

I don’t tend to complain, but after seeing Dr Farnam today I was very disappointed. I left his office crying. I have been struggling with infertility issues. He seemed to not really be invested in trying to find a solution after I expressed that what he had told me was already things we had tried and that’s why I was referred to him. If you have PCOS and happen to be overweight. Do yourself a favor and find someone else.

My wife had the fastest and lesser invasive hysterectomy surgery with Dr Farnam on the 14th of August, incredible experience it took little bit more than an hour for the complete surgery, Dr Farnam was not only very nice and professional with us but very compassionate to our case, after surgery he was the only Dr that went to the extreme service to go out to the family waiting room and personally gave me the good news that everything went well, his staff also very kind and professional always providing all the information we need it through all process.God bless Dr Farnam and his staff! Please be warned. Definitely do not recommend for infertility treatment!! My body has never been the same since I was treated by Dr.Farnham. After ending up in the hospital, the doctor told me that Dr.Farnham is not even a fertility specialist and only had poor things to say. I wish someone had warned me.

This is an excellent doctor. Received service for fibroid removal via robotic surgery and recovery has been speedy and minimal pain. He is the best at what he does. Highly recommend!

I went in for a second opinion on an abnormal pap smear. During that visit, Dr. Farnam performed a biopsy in his office and within one week I had my results. I had my surgery date about a week from the results. He performed a cervical conization procedure, removed a cyst from my ovary, and also a procedure for endometriosis all robotically. After the surgery, I had very little pain and within a week I was able to continue my normal activities. Dr. Farnam was amazing throughout this whole experience. He explained everything in detail, was very patient, caring, and quick with results and follow up procedures.

Dr Farnam has been my doctor for more than a decade. He’s experienced, knowledgeable and extremely caring to his patients’ needs and health concerns. Highly recommended.

Dr. Farnam is an amazing physician. He takes the time to listen to you and understand your needs. I have referred three friends to him and they all have received the same wonderful experience as I have. The only complaint I have is the lady he uses for sonograms. She is horrible, very rude, impatient, and plain mean. If you don’t need a sonogram, then I strongly recommend you to use Dr. Farnam.

Made an appointment to see Doctor Farnam and was given the nurse .I paid 65 out of pocket because I was new patient and it was also for consultation. But seemed to me that the nurse just wanted me not to ask questions . I was recommended Richard I heard he was a good Dr .I was disappointed with the first time visit. I drove from Horrizion just to be given the nurse and dont ask questions? Not worth the 65 dollars for consultation because there was not a consultation. When I was checked... I ask to use the restroom and the nurse told me it out here ..rude ...than as I was walking to the restroom she tells me Im going to need the list of of your meds I was like ....I dont have a list I have them in my purse. Ill give them to you after I finish using the restroom. She was not to happy..I guess she wanted them right there and then before I went to use the restroom. Rude .They act as if its free service they provide and we have to endure the rude attitude.

Dr. Richard Farnum is an amazing doctor and has restored to me my health and quality of life. I have suffered for 35 years with endometriosis and prior to finding Dr. Farnum had ovarian cyst surgery and a laparoscopy to remove the adhesions caused by the endo. Year after year my pain was worse and worse. I felt helpless and resigned myself that there was no cure. I was being treated with narcotics for the pain and migraine medicine for the headaches I was also dealing with. I was missing one or two days of work monthly feeling miserable. Although I was offered a hysterectomy as an option I was told I would have to have my ovaries removed. I knew I would most likely be trading one set of issues and pain for another so I was very reluctant. I was finally referred to Dr. Farnum for a second opinion. From the moment I met him I felt confident in him and his expertise. He diagnosed me as also having adenomyosis in addition to my endometriosis and suggested a robotic hysterectomy with the possibility of retaining my ovaries. I trusted him implicitly and he performed the surgery on me this last July. Having the surgery with Dr. Farnum has changed my life. I feel better than I ever have. All my pain is gone and all the symptoms of the endometriosis and adenomyosis AND I was able to keep my ovaries so that I may experience menopause naturally. The Staff at Dr. Richard Farnam, MD are exceptional in the services they provide. Patricia Castro, APRN-CNP, is very professional and compassionate about my needs and concerns. Patricia is also very patient and takes her time to answer questions and concerns. Nicole, CMA, is gentle, professional and knows how to make you feel very comfortable in a not so comfortable situation by relieving your anxiety with her positive, peaceful demeanor. Priscilla, sonographer, is very professional and makes you feel very welcomed with her gentle spirit. The staff in the front office have made me feel welcomed from day one. It is so comforting to know that in this day and age, where there is so much hustle and bustle going on, that there is medical staff willing to give there full attention on making their clients feel welcome d and cared for. Thank you all.

Dr. Farnam is the best at what he does. If it wasnt for him my husband and I would have never gotten to experience being parents. He is truly a god send and I will recommend him to anyone having difficulties!

This Dr. was able to catch my mother’s cancer when other Drs couldn’t. So compassionate! God bless him!

I highly recommend Dr. Farnam!! I have been going to him for about 8 years now. Both him and his staff are extremely helpful, polite and professional. The wait tends to be long sometimes, but it is totally worth the wait to get the best attention and service.

I have been very disappointed with the management of the offices at this clinic. I have been put on hold numerous times when calling about an unexpected bill, sometimes for up to 20 minutes. When I finally got through the staff were very dismissive and told me to call my insurance. The clinic staff were good, but not worth the headache of dealing with management.

This place cost 4xs for the new patient exam than any other OBGYN office I called. I decided to make an appointment with this place anyway. They put my appointment over a month away.. Even though was calling for urgent pain issues. Then asked me for my Social Security number over the phone and was peeved when i didnt think that was appropriate for me to give over the phone. (MAJOR RED FLAG) I ended up canceling over it. The next place I called got me looked at within a few days and treated before this appt even would have come up.

The nurse practitioner is the absolute best. The doctor is good too.The BIGGEST problem I have is with their billing. They send a bill with an online portal to pay....but they arent set up to use it! You get an error message. When you call the 800 number on the statement, youre placed on eternal hold.When i called the office number they stated that they know you cant pay online, but its a corporate thing and they cant fix it. The choices given are to go in and pay it in person, by phone or mail it in. The person answering seemed indifferent and took some time to get my payment done by phone. Very inconvenient.

Dr. Farnam is such a great listener and takes you seriously! Very knowledgeable and the only provider here in El Paso who knows how to excise and treat endometriosis.

El Paso is not fortunate enough to have MD Anderson or Mayo Clinic; El Paso citizens are often forced to travel to get specialized care, however we are blessed to have Dr. Farnam and his extraordinary staff. Few realize that Dr. Farnam is one of 28 physicians in the entire country who is trained to perform robotic/laser surgery. Dr. Farnam, who is a gynoeuroligist, is not only highly skilled but also delivers exactly what he promises and more! We are lucky Dr. Farnam has chosen to bring his expertise to EP TX.

Dont go if youre a new patient. i wanted a third opinion about what condition i have . (previously diagnosed with two different conditions) waited an hour then to be told i wouldnt be seeing the dr but a nurse practitioner. i trust nurse practitioners when im sick but i could have gone a cheaper route! i didnt pay $120 to see a np. then i was told i could see the dr if i would wait another hour. got my money back and left. there were at least 15 other patients waiting to be seen when i left .. ive never been to a specialist just to see an NP. I felt unimportant and like if they tossed me aside after waiting two months for this appointment. Not worth the time wasted . only good thing was they gave my money back without a fight. He apparently overbooks so be wary. (excuse was he was stuck doing procedures.... clear your books then!)

I cannot be more pleased with how incredibly professional Dr. Farnam is. He explained everything and made it easy for me to understand. He is truly the best!!

I suffered for years with endometriosis and thought I would never find a resolution until I found Dr. Farnam. He was able to do a procedure removing the endometriosis. I havent felt this good in years!!! I would highly recommend him!

Dr. Farnam has moved his office. Seems everyone is new. And he forgot what was his best asset, his Nurse Practitioner, Vilma. SHE MADE HIS PRACTICE SUCCESSFUL ( IMO).

I was seen several weeks ago for a surgery consult. I arrived on time for my appointment. I had to wait out at the lobby for 20 minutes. Then after I was in the exam room, I had to wait for another hour to be seen.

Simply the BEST!!!!! He is a brilliant physician and a truly sincere man. He cares about his patients. El Paso is blessed to have him in our community!!!
